This weekend, Matt and I did another long walk. We had to bike about three miles out of town to the Gog Magog Downland. It was a really nice 7 1/2 mile through lovely fields and a beautiful nature preserve at the height of its fall foliage. On the way back into town though, my bike tire went flat, so we had to walk 2 1/2 miles to the bike shop. That's a full 10 mile walk, like last weekend. We have been very fortunate to have beautiful sunny weather for our last two weekend walks.
It has only just now begun to feel like fall here. We hear it has already snowed in Iowa, and we miss the sight of it. There's nothing like being snug indoors while snow falls thickly outside; or going outside to freshly fallen snow like a fluffy pile of frosting over everything... we miss it, but at least we have pictures. I don't think it's going to snow here in Cambridge much.
We are having a traditional midwest American Thanksgiving dinner with some friends and some people from Matt's economics program. Time to show these Brits what AmERica is all about: food, and lots of it.
We set this up to keep in touch with people we may not see for awhile. So keep in touch. We'll try to keep this thing interesting and updated frequently.
