Mail Strikes and Quiz

First off, a quiz for the Americans reading this. Recently I looked at a map of Europe and I was like, "Hey! Where did THAT country come from?! Has that ALWAYS been there?!"

I don't think I'm the only one. To test this theory I downloaded a map of Europe and erased the country in question. Can you tell what's missing? No cheating! Put your guess on the comments and we'll see if I'm right or an idiot.

In other news we're fully moved into our tiny little flat. It's like the size of an American bedroom. But, as I explained to my brother, since the bed folds into the wall, and also the dining table, it's sort of like THREE rooms that all just happen to be occupying the same space. Grace and I bought some amenities and I'm pleased to say we have more than enough storage for all our stuff, which is actually pretty surprising. Grace even cooked in the little kitchen last night, so we know it's doable.

We went to see "Knocked Up" a few days ago and it cost 10 pounds per person to get in, with out student discount! That's $40 for the two of us to see a movie, not even counting drinks and stuff! On the plus side though, the movie theatre was cool - there was a golden curtain in front of the screen which pulled away when the movie started. Anyway, we decided we won't be going to many movies around here. There's another theatre that plays movies a few months after they come out and its much more reasonable.

Also, and this is amazing to me, its playing the Sound of Music next week and it's a special sing along show! They subtitle the lyrics to all the songs and the audience is supposed to dress up. I think it's awesome. Grace is less convinced.

Anyway, to save money on entertainment we signed up for Blockbuster's online rental service. We got our first two dvd's before the postal service went on strike. Now mail is going to backed up about a week and a half. Figures. At least its just our free two week trial. Still, if this continues I'm going to have to drop the plan. A mail order rental scheme just doesn't work when the mail keeps going on strike, as it's threatening to do.

We're going up to Cambridge today to see some old friends and pick up a few more things. Anyway, let me know if you think a country is missing from that map of Europe.

"Something stinks in the state of Denmark" I'm a 1/4 Danish thanks for removing my heritage (it's where I get the red beard hair).
