Iowa City Flooding
Hey all, Matt and I have been following the news of the flooding closely and just want to say we're thinking about all of you and hope everything will turn out okay. It looks like the whole community is really stepping up to help with filling and laying sandbags and helping people evacuate their homes. Good luck to everyone!

Funny story:
During one of the torrential storms Iowa City has had in the past week, Mike's family had part of a tree fall right in front of their house. The remainder of the tree looked really unsteady, so the Roberts asked the insurance company to take it down. They refused. A couple days later, another torrential storm hit, and the tree fell over an electrical wire and onto the neighbor's house. Oops!!
Yikes! Does the insurance company have to pay for it?
Yup! They have to pay to take the tree out, fix the wire, and fix the neighbor's house. But that's a good story, it seems like the floods are getting worse... They've canceled the all the ACT tests in SE Iowa! And they're really worried about that Park Road bridge that goes over the Iowa river to City Park from Dubuque St... Apparently it might go any minute. The Iowa River is supposed to peak on Monday.
Hey yeah, we've been keeping up with Press Citizen.com--things seem to be getting worse and worse. The pictures are unbelievable.
